[Against all Professors]

Right so....I had a sit down with Sprout today. She apparently thinks that I need more academic extra curriculars. Quidditch isn't enough, it's my final year, blahblahblah. You know, I told the woman last year I didn't want or need academic bullshite. And it's not like I'd be a good tutor you know? If you're too stupid to get it yourself - there's no way I'm going to be able to help you out. Just give up and find something else to do - or at least learn to fake it, yeah?

In other news - for those of you who live under a bloody rock the Catapults won their match against the Kestrels yesterday. No fucking surprise there! Kestrels are a joke! They're just as bad as the Tornadoes and Cannons. Pusses all of 'em! Caerphilly is going all the way this year ... I've already got lots on it. Speaking of---

Who's hosting the quidditch bids on the house games this year? I used to do Darius Ratner's pools - but now that he's gone I'm looking for another bookie sort. The Gryffindor vs Slytherin match is in a few weeks you know....

[Ward to Mafalda Hopkirk]

Oy, just to let you know, I've got your stuff on the way. It'll be about 3 galleons per bottle.

So... Sprout advised that you to take up an academic extra-curricular, but you're not going to do that because tutoring is hopeless and people should've learned to feign knowledge by now. That's what you're saying, yes?

[WARDED TO CARADOC.]

Really? Wow. Okay. Thanks for telling me, I'll probably have enough for two. That should last forever.

Yes Nooo, what I'm saying is she's been nagging me for the last two years to take up tutoring as an academic extra-curricular. And I'm not doing it because I don't want to and it's pointless.

[Ward to Mafalda]

I've only got three coming...if you know anyone who might want the last let me know.

Tutoring is pointless, how?

[WARD TO CARADOC.]

I'll tell you if I hear anything. Considering how many people would be likely to attend the party, I don't think you'll have trouble getting rid of it.

It just is, Mafalda. I'm admit it, I'm a firm believer that if you fail at transfigurations, charms or defense after the first three demonstrations you should probably cling to your theory work instead. I mean really, the only kids that have problems in practicals are those that A) don't try hard enough or B) just don't have the talent for it. Both issues I, personally, don't have the patience for. I'm only being honest.

Some people need extra attention that a teacher tending to fifteen pupils in a classroom isn’t necessarily capable of giving. Some others only need assistance with very specific areas of their study-work, because their strengths are better shown in other subjects. I’ve had to seek out-of-classroom help with a few things, with some offensive charms especially-- some DAtDA things do not come naturally to me, for instance-- and exam revision. I never thought of it to be a waste of time.

But since ‘it just is’, obviously I’m wrong.

Well good for you....

That still doesn't mean I have to feel like I owe the youthful masses of cheeky monkeys my time. Besides, I don't think anyone wants me molding young minds anyway. Other than Sprout...who's clearly delusional and has a higher opinion of my social morality and thinks my opinion toward the greater good involves intellectual charity work.

Oh, whatever. Don’t be patronising.

That's fine, you don't have to do anything. You just don’t have to look down your nose at the whole thing so much. It helps some people out, a lot of the time.

What? I never said you were one of those. Tones of voice are hard to guess when you're reading it all and I didn't know if you were trying to be haughty.

Did someone say ... extracurriculars?

I'm ever so insulted you did not seek me out, Care Bear. As head of the social committee and chief editor of the Hogwarts Herald, I'm sure I could find something for you to participate in that doesn't involve you he-men flying, beating or throwing something at someone or other.

Why would I seek you out for something I wasn't volunteering for in the first place? Honestly, Glen-duh, pay attention and use your brain.

Falcons will totally dominate! They have one of the best records so far this year.

Pfft! The only people talk about the Falcons is because they won the Final for the last two years. But you know what? It's been centuries since a team has won it three times in a row. It just doesn't happen because after the second time the rest of bloody world catches on to their tactics, and their habits. And since they haven't traded or replaced any of their bloody players this season....they might make it to the final....but I assure you they WILL NOT win.
